{Black Friday}

This is what Black Friday looks like to me…

Left overs!!!!!! One of my favorite things about Thanksgiving!!! YUM!!!

{SuperMom}

I have seen a lot of comments on Facebook or on blogs saying “Wow – you are really a SUPERMOM” or “HOW do you do it all” and it has had me thinking lately…

The way I look at it – if you are a mom, you ARE a supermom. The days that I get Zane up, get her dressed and either cook or clean or complete a project, those are usually the days that Zane didn’t wake up five times the night before. And trust me – if you could see my hair today, you know KNOW that last night wasn’t one of those nights.

We do this to ourselves all the time – we look at everyone else’s highlight reel, and compare it to our outtakes/behind the scenes. And things like social media and PINTEREST make it that much easier for us to do this. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE social media and how connected it can make us, but was I am talking about when we get into comparing. I have such admiration for moms in general. I have an appreciation for moms that I feel you only can have once you BECOME a mom. Lets face it – being a mom is one of the MOST rewarding things in life. But it is also CONSTANT hard work. Sometimes we hit the nail right on  the head – everyone had a nutritious dinner, had matching clothes that fit and went to sleep without a hitch. And then then there are the times that we are throwing french fries to the back seat hoping the kids get a few as you race to get to somewhere, only to realize your child only has one shoe on, and the shirt they put on is two sizes too small.

I say all of this to say – Take a breath, grab that Grande Latte {or maybe a Venti!} and face each day knowing that you are going to do YOUR BEST – it isn’t always perfect, it isn’t always pretty but who said that being a mom would be! Give yourself some grace, say a prayer and know that you are a SUPERMOM!!

{You are mailing what???….Where?}

Well folks – I had a JAM PACKED but very fun weekend! I participated in my first ever Holiday Bazaar! My Friend Katie put the whole time together and hosted it at her house (which is HUGE!) and I got to meet GREAT new people and have a lot of fun selling stuff that I created – how BOMB is that!** A special thank you to my sister Bekah for hanging out with me and bringing me Jimmy Johns to eat. You are the best.

I also started a project that is to be completed by THIS WEDNESDAY. Yes – THIS WEDNESDAY. It is a crazy long shot of a project that I am doing for a new friend. I am taking an existing PhotoBooth that I made, tearing it apart, SPRAY PAINTING/GLITTERING and putting back together – and SHIPPING it to Virginia for a very special girls camp for underprivileged youth. Here is a sneak peek:**Only one pin wheel was harmed in the tearing apart of this PhotoBooth 😉

I have never shipped anything of this size before, and this project has been a bit of a faith walk for me just to get it done in the amount of time I have and have it turn out the way I want it to and have the client happy – AH! But Alas, The message this weekend at church – “In God we Trust” was a good one for me. Putting my trust in Him this week!

Hope you had a great weekend – It is THANKSGIVING WEEK!!! We have been menu planning with the family for about a week – getting excited to spend some time with family!

{The Circle – Half of my Heart}

20121116-222917.jpg

I am joining a group of bloggers in a weekly challenge called ‘The Circle’ and each week we are going to post a picture that best interprets the chosen song title for the week.

This week is Half of my Heart by John Meyer. Of course, I have to post a picture about my bug. She is the joy of my life, the reason I feel like I can do ANYTHING in life. I was only HALF living before I had Zane, and I truly mean that.
When my daughter was born, I physically had pain in my chest, and I truly believe it was my heart expanding.

What I DON’T understand is how it works when you have another child. Maybe someday I will.

Now head on over to http://www.emmyincharge.com and see what Maggie has to say about this weeks song choice!

{Merry Merry Holiday Bazaar}

I have been busy busy getting ready for the Holiday Bazaar I am participating in this weekend! Lots of made-to-order stuff available at my table this year 🙂

This will be my first Bazaar I am a part if – I am pretty excited!

{It’s in the Water}

I found out some FANTASTIC news this week… my good friend Jen from Life Lives Here is Pregnant! Ah, I love this season of life.

With Baby Burton right around the corner, this is proving to be a very exciting time for all of us!

Corianne has one of the best blogs, Band of Burtons,  including a lot of writing about her pregnancy, how she feels about becoming a mom. She is a brilliant writer and of course ONE OF THOSE preggos that was barely ever sick and generally feels fantastic all the time. Yes, I know. Sometimes you want to just kick her in the shin. But you can’t kick a pregnant lady. SO I just hug her and hope that some of that rubs off on me if I ever have another one.

Jen is also proving to be the same way. Maybe some of it will rub off on me. Have you seen the movie “What to Expect when you’re Expecting”? Well, at this point, I feel like I was the blond who owned the shop and had a HECK of a time, meanwhile my friends are walking around in bikini’s and stilettos and they sneeze and the baby comes out (I am actually praying for this for them! LOL).

Ok – slight exaggeration. All kidding aside I am TRULY happy that they don’t have to go through some of the really crappy stuff that makes you re-think if you want to go through it again – maybe it is because they are meant to have so many children???  (ha ha – I know, I know – let you get through this one first. Ok I will.)

All this to say – On this day, November 13, 2012 I am very happy. I love that our circle of friends is just getting bigger and adding more kids to the mix. Kids are what makes life WORTH IT sometimes. And I can’t wait for them to experience motherhood.

I am so excited for you BOTH!

And to the rest of us….. be careful – it seems to be in the water….

{Christmas Advent Calendars}

Christmas is going to sneak up on us, if we don’t watch out. I was talking to Brandon and I don’t know if it is because we are getting older, or because we have a child, or because we seem to be very busy this season, but it feels like the holidays are sneaking up on us. Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK folks. I have seen this done before, but always before I had Zane. Given her love for books, I am planning to do something like this for her this year!

I was reminded by THIS POST by Emily (Emphasis Added) that we have now less than 3 weeks to pull this together. AHHHHH!!!! Must get crackin!

Now, I don’t have enough money to purchase 24 full prices brand new books at the moment – but I am feeling like hitting the used book store and a few sales will do the trick! She may still be a bit to young to fully understand what is going on each day, but I am HOPING this becomes a tradition that she will grow to love. I want Zaner to be a reader like her Auntie Bekah or her Auntie Cindy. One way is to foster the fact that she LOVES reading books right now! We are hardly home two minutes before she will run to her tent – carefully choose a book to read, and sit on your lap, ready with anticipation. She always points out any sports balls or red balloons (Which I think it totally adorable!)

Going with the Theme of advent – here are a few others I found that I JUST LOVE {click on the picture to go right to the source!}

This picture on Pinterest goes straight to a website all in a language I don’t know. However, if you click on the picture here in my blog it will take you to a blog with a tutorial on someone DYI’ing!

This last one is probably one of my favorites, because you could use them every year and they would be big enough to fit everything from something for the whole family to enjoy, down to a verse form the Bible you want the family to think about that day. I will have to make some of these (although maybe not this year.)

At any rate dont forget to start celebrating – get in the holiday spirit – and remember the reason for the season to begin with!
